New device lets you get in the picture, too!

The one thing missing from all these cameras? A self-timer. The arm’s-length Konica Super Wide notwithstanding, single-use snappers just don’t let you get yourself in the picture, at least without a cooperative bystander. But now, Picture Yourself by Joy Innovations allows you to travel alone and have the pics to prove it.

The Picture Yourself gadget is an update of an old idea, the accessory spring-wound camera timer. It works simply enough: You just wrap the hook-and-loop strap around the shutter release, make sure the camera’s wound, then turn the knob atop the camera. Push the button and you have 12 seconds to strike a pose.

The Picture Yourself has a selling price of approximately $9, which includes that wacky flex-leg tripod.
