If you've ever felt a little left out when it comes
to taking pictures...A new device can put you in the
action.
***
Patricia Netherton loves to take pictures. Although
she owns several professional cameras, most of the time
you`ll find her snapping shots with a disposable.
"You stick it in your fanny pack, purse, a lot
of times even your pocket and it's just easier to handle
it," said Netherton. Problem is, because she`s
the one taking, you won't find her posing. "My
friends say I've got pictures of everyone in the group
but you`re not in it - because I'm always taking the
picture," explained Netherton, of Shreveport.
"Patricia was so sick and tired of being left
out of her own pictures she was taking on this picture
on her mantle she told us that she used her computer
to digitally add herself to this picture so it looks
like she's standing right next to her friends,"
said Troubleshooter Rich DeMuro. That could all change
- a new product called Picture Yourself attaches to
a disposable camera - a spring loaded, wind-up timer
let`s anyone get in the action.
Picture Yourself allowed us to take several impromptu
shots - setup is a snap.
The device comes with a tripod which makes it easy to
compose a shot.
Once you activate the mechanism, you have about 12 seconds.
"I think anybody that gets it will find that it's
very easy to use and will enjoy having it and the ease
of having it as well," said Netherton. The only
issue we saw develop - sometimes the device can cover
up the film advance wheel - not a big enough problem
to push our tester`s button's - she pictures herself
owning the 10 dollar gadget.
"Obviously if you want yourself in the picture
more often the value is going to increase for you,"
concluded Netherton.
Picture Yourself - made by Joy Innovations - doesn't
even need a battery.
